Nonspecific endonuclease degrades all DNA & RNA for biologics manufacturing
Provinase ®,   GMP-Grade
Provinase ® GMP-Grade
Non-specific endonuclease that degrades DNA and RNA for nucleic acid removal
overview
GenScript’s Benz-NeburaseTM is a highly effective, nonspecific, genetically engineered endonuclease capable of digesting all forms of DNA and RNA into 3-5 base nucleotides. The nucleic acid forms include double stranded, single stranded, linearized, and circular forms.
The Benz-NeburaseTM offerings provide cost-effective solutions for removing contaminating nucleic acids. This endonuclease is commonly used in biopharmaceutical production such as vaccine, viral vector, gene and cell therapy manufacturing facilities.
Benefits

GMP Endonuclease to Degrade all DNA & RNA
Provis has developed a GMP-grade universal nuclease—Provinase, which degrades all DNA and RNA into 2-5 base oligonucleotides. It has been developed and validated according to GMP manufacturing standards to ensure the traceability of raw materials throughout the production process. Provinase provide cost-effective solutions for removing contaminating nucleic acids. This endonuclease is commonly used in biopharmaceutical production such as vaccine, viral vector, gene and cell therapy manufacturing facilities.
Scientific Background
- Provinase® is an endonuclease (CAS Number 9025-65-4) enzyme derived from Serratia marcescens, expressed in E. coli
- Highly effective at targeting and digesting all forms of nucleic acids, reducing them to 5 to 6 bases in length
- Provinase® is a dimer of 30kDa sub-unit with two disulphide bonds
- Provinase® enzymatic activity remains stable across a wide range of operating conditions, including pH, buffering conditions and media components employed in biotechnology processes

application
- Provinase® can be used for digesting and removing nucleic acids from viruses and virus-like particles found in vaccines
- Degrading unwanted nucleic acids that interfere with the analysis or purification of target molecules
- To reduce viscosity of cell lysates by cleaving nucleic acids present in the lysate
- Sample preparation in electrophoretic and chromatography techniques
- Used in prevention of cell clumping
